Our Mission

Through sharing of information, experience and knowledge, the Canadian-Independent Group of Funeral Homes (C-IGFH) strives to enhance quality of service and better enable independent funeral homes in Canada to compete with large international firms.

Our Organization

C-IGFH represents more than 200 independently owned and operated funeral homes from across Canada. Formed in 1989, our organization builds on the important contributions independent funeral homes make to the communities they serve by bringing members together in ways which support, rather than compromise, their positions as locally-based, successfully-run businesses.

Through membership in C-IGFH, independent funeral homes are able to access cost-saving options to help improve their day-to-day operations, as well as a range of support materials designed to enhance the quality of service and care they are able to provide customers.

C-IGFH is governed by members through elected Officers – including a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer - and an elected Board of Directors. All C-IGFH members adhere to generally accepted rules of conduct for Canada's funeral profession, and all members are independently owned and operated by Canadians. Our annual meetings include a report from the directors, a financial statement, and an auditor's report.
