Geoffrey
C. Carnell, a Professional Engineer and licensed
funeral director, is currently the President of Carnell's Funeral
Home Ltd.
and is the owner and operator of the Carnell Memorial Chapel and
Crematorium in the City of St. John’s and the Family Visitation
and Reception Centre in the City of Mount Pearl.
Geoff is an active volunteer in his profession and community.
He has served as President of both the Provincial and National
Funeral
Service Associations, and as former chairman, continues as a board
member of the Funeral Profession Coalition Council of Canada. In
2004, Geoff received the Funeral Service Association of Canada Award
of Merit. He is a Past President of the St. John’s Board of
Trade, the Royal St. John's Regatta Committee and the Bereavement
Association (St. John’s Region), former Rector’s Warden
and Chairman of St. Thomas’ Anglican Church and board member
of the Health Care Corporation of St. John’s. He is currently
a board member of the Health Care Foundation and a member of the
Rotary Club of St. John's.
An avid writer, Geoff has authored two books on funeral planning,
writes a monthly column in a senior’s publication and has been
a guest columnist with the “The Canadian Funeral News”.
Geoff lives in St. John's with his wife Cindi and two sons Geoffrey
and Gregory.

Allison Swan, President and Managing Director of MacLean's Funeral
Home Swan Chapel, has been involved in the funeral industry for over
30 years. At the age of 16, Allison decided that he wanted to dedicate
his life to serving the families in his community. Since earning
his embalmers license in 1971, he has served in a number of capacities
representing his chosen profession. He is Past President of the PEI
Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association, the Chairman for the
28th annual Atlantic Funeral Directors and Service convention as
well as serving as Past President of the Funeral Service Association
of Canada, an honour preceded by 15 years as a member of the Board
of Directors of the Association. His involvement extends beyond his
profession, in that he is actively involved in his community as a
Rotarian and as a member of the Charlottetown Chamber of Commerce.

Chuck Curry joined the family funeral
business in the fall of 1964 in a temporary management position.
That six month assignment at
the Curry’s Funeral Home has now extended to forty-three years
and counting. On February 28, 1997, Chuck and his wife Joanne purchased
his brother's shares of the Antigonish business, and one year later,
in celebration of their partnership, Curry Bros. Funeral Directors
Ltd. became C.L. Curry Funeral Services Ltd. Chuck’s son, Patrick,
following seven years as a licenced funeral professional in Ontario,
rejoined the family business in April of 2008. Chuck was the President
of the Funeral Service Association of Canada for the 1999-2000 term.

Jim Bishop, the third generation of Bishop’s to serve
the residents of Fredericton, New Brunswick, came to work with
his father in 1989 and is now President of the funeral home. Jim
is currently sitting of the executive of the NB Funeral Director's
and Embalmers Association as First Vice President. He is also known
for his performances as an Elvis Tribute Artist, in and around
the Fredericton Area.

Bridget Fetterly, along with her husband Paolo, has been running
the Kane & Fetterly Funeral Home in Montreal since the passing
of her father in 1998. Originally a student of art history and
interior design, Bridget joined the family firm in 1992 after completing
a renovation project for the home. In addition to overseeing her
homes’ day-to-day business and raising her young son, Bridget
is also a Foundation of St. Mary’s Hospital Board member
and Annual Ball committee member, Past President of the Kiwanis
Montreal-St. George Club, Generations Foundation Board member and
a Director for the Marianopolis College Millennium Foundation.

Stephen Blair is a fourth generation funeral director with Blair & Son
Funeral Homes, located in Perth, Smiths Falls and Lanark, Ontario
(just outside of Ottawa).
Stephen joined the C-IGFH Board four years
ago as a representative at large for Ontario. After serving on
the Board for two years, there
was a vacancy for the position of Treasurer. He accepted the position
and has enjoyed being our Treasurer for the past two years. In
his spare time he enjoys volunteer work in the community, is a
member of Perth – Junior Chamber International Canada and is part
of a local advisory committee for grief and bereavement programs
and initiatives.

Rick C. Wiebe was
born and raised in Winkler. He moved to Morden to take care of Wiebe
Funeral Chapel, Morden in 1973. Rick took over management of the family
business when his father Nick retired in 1988. Now married to his wife
Yolanna Yerex who is the Wiebe Chapel Cemetery Administrator, Rick
spends his days in Winkler and Morden at both business locations. Rick's
son Chris is working and living in Taipei, Taiwan and daughter Holly
is working and living in Winnipeg, MB.

Jim
E. Thomas moved to Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, from Moosomin in August of
1975 with his wife Nola and their three young children; Robert,
Darcy and Susan. Jim and Nola now have eight grandchildren. Jim
and his son Darcy and grandson (Darcy's Son) Dustin work together
in the funeral business and have just recently opened a crematorium
to serve their area.

Michael
Pierson was born and raised in Calgary. He was one of the seven
Pierson children to attend Viscount Bennett Jr. and Sr. High Schools.
He then attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where
he studied music and business. In 1986, he transferred to the Cincinnati
College of Mortuary Science at Xavier University in Cincinnati,
Ohi,o and graduated with a Bachelors of Mortuary Science (cum laud)
in 1987. He had training and experience in funeral homes in Utah
and Ohio while attending University prior to returning to Calgary
in 1988 to join the family firm. Michael has always shown leadership
characteristics as well as being community and service minded.
In high school he served as Class President and more recently served
as the President of the International Avenue Business Revitalization
Zone, an organization which has done significant work to improve
the business district in the Forest Lawn area of Calgary. Michael
also served on the Executive Council of the Alberta Funeral Service
Association for eight years including a term as President. Currently,
Michael is the Chairman of the International Avenue Arts and Culture
Centre. Michael has an active church life and loves to spend time
with his wife Kathleen and their sons Eric and Connor. Michael
loves his work at the funeral home. He loves helping families who
need our services and is proud of the good reputation and solid
business the family has built.
